Police in Morris County were at the scene “within seconds” to save the life of a man who went into cardiac arrest at a local high school last week, authorities said. A New Jersey State Trooper performed life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a 44-year-old man who collapsed and stopped breathing at a service area on the Garden State Parkway in Central Jersey, authorities said. Coast Guard: One Dead After Boat Capsizes On Raritan Bay
One person died after a boat capsized on the Raritan Bay Saturday, the U.S. Coast Guard said. A good Samaritan pulled the victim's body from the water after the boat overturned near Keyport around 10 a.m., and immediately began CPR, reports say. Three Secaucus police officers came to the rescue of a 75-year-old woman having breathing problems, now recovering well at the hospital. Officers responding to a 9-1-1 call found the woman lying down and turning blue at a home at the 600 block of 9th Street around 6 p.m. Nov. 1, Chief Dennis Miller said. Witness: Man Who Plunged To Death At Paterson's Great Falls Slipped On Rocks
A man who plunged to his death from atop the Great Falls in Paterson on Thursday apparently slipped and fell, a witness told police. Firefighters recovered the body of the victim who was believed to be 40 to 50 years old, after the witness said he saw him “climbing the rocks, falling forward and then falling backward,” a responder at the scene told Daily Voice. A 3-year-old boy died at the hospital after his lifeless body was found earlier this week by a Lake Hopatcong fisherman, authorities said. Jefferson police officers Charles Paskas and Mathew Saparito, and Cpl. Jeremy Romash performed CPR on the boy on Capp Beach around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jefferson Police Capt. Robert Bush said.
