Construction Worker Killed By Machinery On Route 280 (Update) A 58-year-old construction worker was fatally struck by machinery early Wednesday, Jan. 10 on Route 280, authorities said. Jose Rosales-Cumbicos, of Newark, was struck around 6:25 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway in Newark near milepost 13.4, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Rosales-Cumbico died as a result of his injuries, McNair said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) said it is investigating the incident.
