Teen Boy Found Dead Near Union County Train Tracks
A 17-year-old boy was found dead near railroad tracks in Union County Thursday, Aug. 4, authorities said. The unidentified male was found near West Second Street and Central Avenue around 8:30 p.m. in Plainfield, a spokesperson with the prosecutor's office said. It was not clear where exactly his body was found. The cause of death was under investigation.

Plainfield Man, 64, Accused Of Stabbing 65-Year-Old Neighbor To Death
A man living in a Plainfield rooming house is in custody after authorities said he stabbed a neighbor to death over the weekend. Guillermo Bello, 64, was found in Elizabeth early Monday after he was identified as a suspect, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. He was being held at the Union County jail. Police were called to the 600 block of Central Avenue around 5:45 a.m. Sunday. There they found 65-year-old Louis Hillyard on the front porch of the rooming house. Neighbor, 72, Sentenced For Repeatedly Assaulting Child In Plainfield
A Plainfield man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday for repeated sexual assaults of a 9-year-old girl, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Angel Flores, 72, abused the girl on multiple occasions for more than a year beginning in December 2015. He would often give her small quantities of cash before each assault, authorities said.
