SUV Splits Utility Pole, Busy Paramus Intersection Closed Most Of Day
A driver escaped serious injury when an SUV split a utility pole at a busy intersection just off northbound Route 17 in Paramus. Midland Avenue between Sette Drive and From Road was reopened at 3 p.m. Friday, June 16, after PSE&G replaced the pole, police said. The ramp from northbound Route 17 to eastbound Midland Avenue was also closed. The ramp to westbound Midland Avenue remained open. Driver Hospitalized After Sedan Slams Into Pole In Glen Rock
A senior driver suffered a severe leg injury when her sedan slammed into a utility pole Tuesday afternoon in Glen Rock. Borough police and EMS workers tended to the victim after her Toyota Corolla rammed the pole on Prospect Street near Saddle River Park. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by members of the Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the village's Fire Rescue team. A man who advertised fake New Jersey temporary vehicle registrations for sale on Facebook was caught peddling them in the parking lot of a strip mall in Glen Rock. Photographer Boyd A. Members of the Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit got to work after a pickup truck toppled a pole at the Oradell border on Thursday. Stricken Tow Truck Driver Crashes Into Tree Off Route 17
A tow truck crashed into a tree just off Route 17 in Paramus when its driver suffered what responders said was a medical episode Tuesday afternoon. A paramedic team from the Valley Hospital tended to the driver from Criger's Auto Body in Fairfield near the former Barnes & Noble at the intersection of Glen Avenue and the southbound highway before taking him back with them. Tens of thousands of honeybees had a hive-swarming party that temporarily closed a stretch of downtown Ridgewood on Monday. Two drivers escaped without major injury when their SUVs collided Monday in Ridgewood.
