Several Verona firefighters were quarantining after being exposed to COVID-19 during an unauthorized holiday gathering at a local firehouse, officials said. Fire Station No. 2 on Bloomfield Avenue subsequently closed and is forced to rely on mutual aid from neighboring towns and Fire Station No. 1 because of the event, Township Manager Matthew Cavallo said. Authorities are seeking the public's help identifying a man who they say stole two flat irons worth nearly $157 from a Bloomfield beauty store. The manager of Sally’s Beauty on Bloomfield Avenue saw a younger Hispanic man pictured above steal the electronic tools on Sept. 5, Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Bloomfield Police.

Responders: Clifton Man, 44, In Route 3 Crash Died Of Medical Cause
A 44-year-old driver killed in a Monday morning crash on Route 3 in Clifton apparently suffered a medical episode, responders told Daily Voice. The 2012 Hyundai Elantra driven by Anton Dittrich of Clifton veered onto the westbound shoulder and scraped along the divider for about 100 yards before coming to a stop near the Bloomfield Avenue exit shortly before 10:30 a.m., authorities said Monday afternoon. 2 Denville Spa Workers Busted For Prostitution
A Denville spa had its business permit suspended after a pair of employees were charged with prostitution, authorities said. Julie Pak, 59, and Jizi Jin, 56, of June Spa were "engaging in prostitution" at the Route 10 business, Capt. Jeffrey Tucker said. June Spa is not affiliated with TG Nail & Spa located next door. Asian Island on Bloomfield Avenue had its permit revoked last June, having been a "chronic violator" of a township ordinance adopted in 2017 regulating massage, bodywork and somatic therapy facilities. An investigation into June Spa is under way, the Daily Record said.

: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Clifton Crash
UPDATE: A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after a Friday crash that continued to keep eastbound Route 3 closed, responders said. The victim was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson after both Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support units responded to the 6 p.m. crash. The highway remained closed and still hadn't reopened well over an hour later, as investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.
