Little Ferry Raid: Arrests Made In Thefts Of High-End Bikes From Lyndhurst Peddled On Facebook
A trio accused of stealing high-end limited-edition bicycles from throughout Lyndhurst and then trying to sell them on Facebook were seized by tactical officers during a pre-dawn raid of a Little Ferry home. Emergency Response Team members from the Lyndhurst and Little Ferry police departments hit the house on John Street around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8. They seized three suspects who had all apparently lived before in Lyndhurst. According to Lyndhurst Detective Lt. Glen Rock police investigating a rash of bicycle thefts at its train stations nabbed a familiar face with help from technology and their borough's fire chief. Detectives attached a GPS tracker to a decoy bicycle before racking it at the NJ TRANSIT Bergen Line station, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Rash Of Bike Thefts Reported At Both Glen Rock Train Stations
Five bicycles have been stolen from Glen Rock train stations over the past month, two of which are worth a combined $1,800, authorities said. “All appear to be taking place during off hours when there is little activity at the station,” Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Accused Jersey City Bike Thief Knocks Over Hoboken Officer During Pursuit
A Jersey City man riding a bicycle that may have been stolen was arrested after knocking over a Hoboken police officer during a pursuit, authorities said. The chase began around 7:25 a.m. Saturday morning, when a man walked into police headquarters to report his bike had been stolen Friday, police said.
