Bergen County Couple Dies Week Apart Of Coronavirus In Separate Rooms Of Same Hospital
The Bergen County community is mourning a couple married for more than four decades died of coronavirus complications just one week apart from one another -- alone in the same hospital. Palisades Park healthcare workers Susana Pabatao, 64, and Alfredo Pabatao, 68, started feeling the onset of symptoms about three weeks ago, NJ.com reports. Alfredo Pabatao noticed he had a 102-degree fever on March 17 and two days later went to his doctor, who told him to go to the emergency room. 'We're Going To Tighten Screws,' Murphy Vows As List Of NJ Coronavirus Cases Reaches 890
State officials will tighten social distancing requirements in New Jersey sometime before Saturday afternoon, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Friday, as the statewide total of deaths from the coronavirus grew to 11 and the total number of positive cases continued a sharp rise to 890. 19: State Coronavirus Cases Rise To 742 including 9 Deaths
New Jersey reported 318 new presumptive positive cases of coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 742. "We have expected these numbers,'' Gov. Phil Murphy said at a noon news conference. "These numbers will go into the many thousands." Murphy attributed the increase to more testing around the state as well as community spread of the deadly virus. Tedesco Rescinds Executive Order At Murphy's Request
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco's executive order declaring a state of emergency will not be implemented as requested by Gov. Phil Murphy, officials said Thursday. Tedesco on Monday announced the executive order calling for the shutdown of malls, non-essential retail and banned groups of four or more people from public gatherings by Tuesday at 11 p.m. Then, Tuesday morning, Tedesco announced he was postponing the order until Saturday. Two more people in New Jersey had died as a result of coronavirus as cases shot up to 427 total as of Wednesday, officials said. The new fatalities brings the statewide total to five. Both patients had underlying conditions and were over 60 years old. At least 18 of the 21 New Jersey counties had confirmed cases. Jonathan Kowalczyk Of Saddle Brook Dies, 33
Jonathan David Kowalczyk of Saddle Brook died on Oct. 16. He was 33 years old. Jonathan attended Don Bosco Technical High School in Paterson, and later Bergen County Community College. More than $9,200 had been raised in Jonathan's memory on a GoFundMe as of Nov. 8. He was being remembered for his heart and caring nature.
