Cora’s departure comes alongside hitting coach Peter Fatse, third base coach Kyle Hudson, bench coach Ramón Vázquez, assistant hitting coach Dillon Lawson, and Major League hitting strategy coach Joe Cronin, according to the team. Brian Benson, of Scotch Plains, died in a car crash on Wednesday, Sept. 17, according to his obituary from Memorial Funeral Home. He was 46 years old.

New Jersey dad Matthew Maloney died on Wednesday, July 16, a month after he fell from a ladder, leading to respiratory failure, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family. He died two days after his 57th birthday.
