A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Atlantic City raced to rescue a tanker crew member who suffered a chemical injury while working more than 11 miles away from the New York Harbor, officials said. A 46-year-old fisherman suffering a medical emergency was rescued off the Jersey Shore by members of the US Coast Guard from Barnegat and Atlantic City, authorities said. Coast Guard Rescues Duck Hunters Stranded On South Jersey Shore Island In Freezing Temps
Members of the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a pair of duck hunters stranded on an island in Little Egg Inlet in Brigantine Tuesday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received a call from Sea Tow around 3 p.m., that the hunters had their boat on the island, but were unable to get it to back, Coast Guard officials said. The Perth Amboy community is rallying for the family of a 17-year-old boy who drowned in the Raritan Bay Thursday. A GoFundMe intended to help fund a funeral service for Johnny Vasquez had raised $740 as of Friday afternoon.
