Hoboken's Malibu Diner To Close: Report
Hoboken’s iconic Malibu Diner will soon close its doors, HobokenGirl reports. Malibu Diner on 14th Street will remain open through Dec. 31 before closing its doors for the building’s demolition, the report says citing the restaurant’s co-owner. The decision to rebuild was made by the restaurant’s previous owner, who died about a year ago; meanwhile, the restaurant has plans to reopen in a brand new commercial space right down the road in about two years, the report says. A popular Hoboken bar frequented by Giant Eli Manning has closed. Hudson Tavern owner Thomas Brennan announced last Saturday was the joint's last day in business. Hoboken PD: Jersey City Man Spits On Officer After Trying To Get Into Cars Stopped At Red Light
A 24-year-old Jersey City man who tried opening doors of cars at a red light and spat on a police officer taking him into custody was found with PCP, authorities said. Madhur Patel tried opening the driver's side doors of cars stopped the intersection of at 14th Street and Park Avenue, around 4:25 p.m. on March 1, Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. Patel was arrested after he spit on Hoboken police officer Francis McCourt, and found in possession of PCP, police said.
