Officers responding to a shooting on the 100 block of South Devine Street around 1:10 p.m. Aug. 4, where a victim was laying on the ground with gunshot wounds, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
A relative of the victim told police that his cousin was shot when a gunman fired at them from the back seat of a black SUV Audi that pulled up with a black Suburban Denali, O'Hara said.
The relative knew the driver of the Suburban Denali, and the victim was taken to University Hospital.
