Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutor

A man was fatally shot in the West Ward of Newark on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 18, authorities said.

Police in Newark responded to the 300 block of South 7th Street and found the victim dead from a gunshot wound, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force is leading the investigation into the fatal shooting, authorities said. The victim has not been identified.
