At 12:40 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of 4th Avenue West on the border of Newark/East Orange on a call of shots fired, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
Police located property damage due to gun fire and received a report that a 15-year-old male from East Orange had arrived at a nearby hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot injury, Miranda said.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition and the incident remains under investigation, Miranda said.
