One Of Sussex County's Newest First Responders 62, Killed In UTV Crash: Nysp
A 62-year-old Sussex County first responder was killed when his UTV was struck by a pickup truck in upstate New York on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 1, authorities said.
At 6 p.m., William Timko, a Wantage resident and member of the fire department, was operating a UTV in Turin, traveling eastbound, when he failed to acknowledge a yield sign at the intersection of State Route 12 and Milk House Road and was struck by a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling southbound on State Route 12, New York State Police said.

Three Men Robbed Sussex County Motel Guests At Gunpoint: Authorities
Two Allentown, PA men were arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 13, after robbing people at a motel at gunpoint in Sussex County last week, authorities said.
At 5:30 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 10, three masked men entered a room at the Cobmin Ridge Motel in Branchville and robbed the occupants at gunpoint, New Jersey State Police Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan and Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said.
An investigation led police to Allentown, where they arrested, Vincent Cruz, 34, and Osnil Valez, 32, authorities said.

Tornado Watch Shifts, Now Covers These Counties Across NJ, PA As Debby Creeps In
The National Weather Service has shifted its tornado watch across New Jersey and Pennsylvania as Hurricane Debby creeps in.
In New Jersey, the tornado watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and covers Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties in North Jersey.
In Pennsylvania, the tornado watch is issued in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, and Bucks counties.
The tornado threat for South Jersey has diminished since the initial watch was issued early Friday morning, which has since been canceled.
