'Crazy Rescue Ladies' Who Had 170+ Pets In Disgusting NJ Home Sentenced, Prosecutors Say
Two Brick Township women who called themselves the "Crazy Rescue Ladies" will spend nearly a year in jail after admitting to having more than 170 pets in deplorable conditions, authorities said.
Michele Nycz, 60, and Aimee Lonczak, 51, were sentenced on Friday, Aug. 16 to 364 days in Ocean County Jail, county prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. The women pleaded guilty on Monday, June 24 to two counts of animal cruelty, and Lonczak also entered a guilty plea for child neglect.

NJ Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Passenger On United Airlines Flight: Feds
A New Jersey man who admitted to sexually assaulting a woman passenger seated next to him on a United Airlines flight has been sentenced to six months of home confinement, authorities said.
Piyush Mathew, 31, of Robbinsville Township, must also serve five years of probation and register as a sex offender, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on Thursday, Aug. 1.
Mathew, who pleaded guilty in March, was sentenced on Wednesday, July 31.

A maintenance worker will spend nearly a year in jail after he was convicted of stealing $4,500 and a smartwatch at an Ocean County apartment complex, authorities said.
Troy Jones, 58, of Jackson Township, was sentenced on Friday, May 31 to 364 days in the Ocean County Jail as a condition of a three-year probation term, county prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Tuesday, June 4.
