Bergen County Truck Driver Charged In Pedestrian's Fatal North Bergen Pin: Prosecutor A 24-year-old Fort Lee resident was arrested and charged after he fatally struck a pedestrian in North Bergen on Monday, Feb. 10 and fled the scene, authorities said. Around 6 a.m., police responded to a pedestrian struck at Tonnelle Avenue and 91st Street and found Nestor Naira-Ojeda, a 52-year-old North Bergen resident, who was pronounced dead at the scene after he was pinned against a guardrail, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez and authorities said. Pedestrian Killed, Pinned Against Guardrail In North Bergen: Police A pedestrian pinned against a guardrail and "instantly killed" early Monday, Feb. 10 in North Bergen, authorities tell Daily Voice. The crash occurred at 91st Street and Tonnelle Avenue and led to numerous road closures and detours, including at Route 1 and 9, North Bergen police said. The roadway was eventually reopened, police said. Footage of the crash was shared by HudPost on Instagram (note the story disappears after 24 hours).

Video Shows Dump Truck Barreling Into North Bergen Target Store, Serious Injuries Reported Six people were injured including two seriously when a dump trailer struck a tractor trailer before barreling into the North Bergen Target store Friday, Jan. 17 ( scroll for video). North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco said that the dump truck going down the hill on 69th Street lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck a tractor trailer.  The impact of the crash sent both vehicles into the building.
