A 41-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged after he brought a gun to The Home Depot in Bloomfield on Wednesday, March 19, authorities said. A 17-year-old Newark boy died on Saturday, March 8, after he collapsed while playing basketball at a YMCA, authorities said. At 2:48 p.m., firefighters responded to the YMCA at Kenneth Gibson Blvd and found the 17-year-old unresponsive inside the second floor gymnasium, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
