Man Killed In Newark, Cops Say
A man was shot and killed in Newark on the evening of Thursday, June 13, authorities said. The shooting occurred at Sussex Avenue and Duryea Street, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation, authorities said.

A 36-year-old Newark man has been convicted of murder for a 2018 homicide in Newark after his initial conviction was reversed in 2022, authorities said. Hassan Todd was found guilty in the shooting death Elijah Roberts, which occurred on Sept. 22, 2018 on Avon Ave. in Newark, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. A second victim was shot but survived the incident. Double Shooting Leaves 1 Dead In Newark, Prosecutor Says
A 27-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot in a double shooting on the evening of Tuesday June 4, authorities said. At 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of South Orange Avenue and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said.
