Violent NJ Human Trafficking Rings Dismantled Where Women, Teens Were Forced Into Sex: AG
Seven people have been arrested in the dismantling two human trafficking rings, one in North Jersey and one in South Jersey, authorities said.
The rings were based in Essex County and Cumberland County, state Attorney General Matthew Platkin said at a news conference on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

A 45-year-old Morris County man has been arrested and charged after posting an online death threat at a political commentator, authorities said.
Last month, Haim Braverman, of Morris Plains, posted a video of himself on a social media platform in which he made various threats to a political commentator who had publicly commented on a prominent, now-deceased rabbi, US Attorney Philip Sellinger said.

A 25-year-old Somerset County man was sentenced on Monday, Sept. 30, to 64 months in prison, time served, after he pleaded guilty to concealing his attempts to provide support to Hamas, authorities said.
Jonathan Xie, a Basking Ridge resident, admitted to sending money to Hamas to fund violent acts against Israeli civilians while brandishing a gun and holding a Hamas flag on an Instagram Live stream, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said. He had pleaded guilty in 2020 and was being held without bail.

A 61-year-old woman from Ewing died Thursday, May 23, two days after being stabbed by her son, authorities said.
Maggie McNeil was found covered in blood after being stabbed by her son Theodore N. McNeil, 36, of Trenton, on Tuesday, May 21, around 5:10 p.m., at a home on Pennington Road, Ewing police said at the time.
According to the Trentonian, Maggie had been trying all day to get help for her son, who is schizophrenic.

Gavin Guzman, 23, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 13, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 16. He's charged with first-degree murder in the death of Nazir Cintron, 22, of Atlantic City.
