Family and loved ones are mourning the death of a teen from Toms River. A GoFundMe page was created in the memory of Diego Rodriguez Garibaldi, who died on Friday, Jan. 26 at 19 years old, according to his obituary. The memorial fundraiser was created after a car crash sent Rodriguez Garibaldi to the hospital. Details in the crash were not immediately available. Toms River nurse and beloved mom Shaina M. Ashley died at home on Tuesday, Jan. 18. She was 41. Born in Lakewood, Ashley grew up and lived in Toms River at the time of her death, her obituary says. State officials are intervening after the owners of Wildwood's Twilight Motel refused to give refunds to New Jersey students who had reservations during prom weekend, which was cancelled due to COVID-19, reports say.
