Point Pleasant high school sweethearts Marsada "Sadi" Connors, 20, and Cole Young, 19 — along with their yellow lab, Maezy — died when a tractor trailer veered into oncoming traffic and hit their 2008 Honda Odyssey on Route 70 in Illinois on Friday, Aug. 20. Shark Pinged 20-Miles Off NJ Coast A 183-pound white shark who took a trip to the New Jersey coast late last month is back for more summer fun. Martha, a juvenile white shark who measures approximately 7 feet long, was "pinged" just before 8 a.m., Wednesday morning.  She was spotted approximately 20 miles off the coast, between Point Pleasant and Neptune, according to shark tracking organization OCEARCH. Sharks will "ping" when their dorsal fin is above the surface long enough to be detected by a satellite. Newark Teen Pleads Guilty To Jersey Shore Stabbings, Prosecutor Says A teenager from Newark has admitted to stabbing two Rockland County men on the Jersey Shore during a fight last year, authorities said. Juwan Roman, 18, pleaded guilty on Thursday to two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Roman's name was made public this week after he waived his right to juvenile status in Family Court.  Roman was 17 during the 2020 assault, but he voluntarily agreed to be prosecuted as an adult, the prosecutor said.
