Fatal Stabbing Reported In Central Jersey: Prosecutor
There was a fatal stabbing Sunday night, April 28 in Perth Amboy, authorities said. The stabbing occurred near Smith and Maple streets, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office confirmed. UPDATE: Police ID Man, 32, Stabbed Dead In Perth Amboy An office spokeswoman said Monday, April 29 that a press statement was being prepared and was waiting on notification of next of kin. Man Arrested For Cutting Another's Fingers Off In Central Jersey: Police
A 24-year-old man has been arrested for slashing a man and cutting off some of his fingers during an attack under the Victory Bridge in Perth Amboy, authorities said. Ziyare Palmer, of Perth Amboy, was charged with attempted murder, weapons offenses and motor vehicle theft in what Perth Amboy police described as a domestic violence assault. Victim's Fingers Cut Off During Attack In Perth Amboy
A victim had his fingers cut off during an attack in Perth Amboy, authorities said. The man also was slashed, according to a spokeswoman for Perth Amboy City Hall. Police were called to Riverview Drive under the Victory Bridge at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, April 14 and found the injured man, the spokeswoman said. The man, who does not reside in Perth Amboy, was brought to an area hospital. Additional details were not available.

Schools Shelter In Place Amid Investigation Into Possibly Armed NJ Student: Cops
An investigation into a student who was believed to have been armed with a gun had some schools sheltering in place Friday, March 22, police said. The investigation began around 12:10 p.m., when officers were called to investigate a student "acting suspiciously" at a school in Perth Amboy, local police said. The student was believed to have been headed toward another school looking for another student, police said. The student was taken into custody and was found to not have been armed, police said. The shelter in place was lifted later in the day. The investigation is ongoing.

More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release.
