A Newark man accused of carjacking a Rockland County driver in Clifton was ordered held by a judge after he was captured on the beach in Asbury Park, authorities said. The 27-year-old victim from Pearl River, NY, was hospitalized after being assaulted outside a medical building on Broad Street just off eastbound Route 3 the night of Aug. 20, they said. Driver Charged In Crash With Police Vehicle: Toms River PD
A 55-year-old driver from Pearl River, NY, was charged with failure to yield after a crash with a police car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. On Sunday, Aug.14, at approximately 9 p.m. Brian Ayres was traveling in the left lane heading west on Route 37 when he struck a police vehicle. Ayres stated that he did not see the emergency lights of the Toms River Police patrol car before striking it on the driver’s side, police said. Woman Who Notoriously Hacked Husband Into 65 Pieces Granted Prison Release To Hackensack
A Bergen County woman who was sentenced to life in prison for the infamous hacking death of her husband in Rockland County was headed to live with her sister in Hackensack this week after a federal judge granted her a compassionate release.
