Off-Duty Cops Rescue Guests From Burning Jersey Shore Motel
Three off-duty police officers sprang into action early Sunday morning, Feb. 23, pulling guests from a burning motel before firefighters arrived, authorities said. The fire broke out around 3:06 a.m. at a motel on the 200 block of Broadway, according to Point Pleasant Beach Police. The motel was identified in various reports as the Shore Point Motel. The off-duty officers happened to be passing by when they saw smoke and flames coming from the building. Tractor-Trailer Smashes Into Several Vehicles Parked Outside Jersey Shore Supermarket
A tractor-trailer crashed into several vehicles parked in front of an Ocean County supermarket, officials said. The crash happened on Route 35 South near the intersection of Laurel Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach on Monday, June 3, the Ocean Fire Company said in a Facebook post. Firefighters found the tractor-trailer hit several parked vehicles in front of Stop & Shop. One vehicle overturned and landed on the truck's trailer, firefighters said. Early Morning Crash Injures Person, Snaps Utility Pole Along Jersey Shore Beachfront
A person was injured after a car crashed near the Ocean County beachfront and broke a utility pole, officials said. In a Facebook post, the Ocean Fire Company said it responded to the crash near the intersection of North Ocean and Washington avenues early in the morning on Saturday, Apr. 20. Dump Truck Plows Into Jersey Shore Home, Downs Power Lines
A dump truck toppled a utility pole and smashed into a house in Ocean County, authorities said. A 55-year-old truck driver crashed into the home at the intersection of McLean Avenue and Route 35 North at 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, Point Pleasant Beach police said. The operator of the truck, Ronald Bennett, of Point Pleasant, was treated at the scene by the Point Pleasant First Aid & Rescue Squad and taken to the hospital, police said.
