Newly-released bodycam footage shows the arrest of a wrong-way DWI driver who police say nearly hit multiple people before crashing into another vehicle then landing on a boardwalk along in a Jersey Shore town. DWI Driver Traveled Down Boardwalk On Jersey Shore After Crashing Into Vehicle, Police Say
An Avon-by-the-Sea man was accused of driving while intoxicated when he crashed into a vehicle and drove onto the Belmar boardwalk, authorities said. Jason Nagy, 44, was arrested on Thursday, July 11, the Belmar Police Department said in a news release. When dozens of car drivers "showed off" in front of the fans in Belmar, police responded by ticketing at least 25 motorists for violations -- including parking tickets.
