South Jersey Pair Arrested On Child Pornography Charges, Including High School Student-Teacher
A pair of men from South Jersey have been arrested on child pornography charges as part of Operation Safe Quarantine, authorities said. One of the Burlington County men arrested had been a student-teacher at Middletown South High School in Monmouth County, authorities said on Friday. He was identified as Matthew Natale, 22, of the 1400 block of Virginia Court in the Marlton section of Evesham. Springsteen's Federal DWI Hearing Streams Live For Reporters This Week
Bruce Springsteen’s federal court appearance on DWI charges Wednesday will be streamed live via Zoom for the news media. A part-time U.S. magistrate judge based in Newark will handle the case in what is known as enclave court because the arrest was made on federal property at Sandy Hook. Monmouth County SPCA Appoints New Law Enforcement Officers
A former Eatontown police chief has been named as the new chief of the Monmouth County SPCA, authorities said. Michael D. Goldfarb has been named the Monmouth County SPCA’s new Chief of Law Enforcement, responsible for overseeing the enforcement of animal cruelty cases in the county, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. NJ Coast Train Derailment Prompts Modified Schedules
Special train schedules are in effect on the North Jersey Coast and Northeast Corridor lines due to last week's derailment in Central Jersey. Coyote 'Chasing People' In Middletown
Police in Central Jersey were responding to reports of a coyote chasing people. Middletown police were called about 10:30 a.m. about a coyote "running in the streets," hat was suspected to be rabid because of its erratic behavior. A new report from AdvisorSmith ranked the crime rates of hundreds of municipalities across New Jersey to determine the safest small, midsize and large cities. Three high schools and four middle schools in Central Jersey have returned to "all-remote" instruction due to new coronavirus outbreaks. Woodbridge Township School District has switched to all-remote learning at several schools after a week-long fall break. A Central Jersey school district has reported at least 23 new positive coronavirus cases in the past two weeks, officials said. The outbreak has prompted one school within the Middletown Township Public Schools to return to "all-remote" instruction, the district announced in a note to parents. Rollover Crash In Central Jersey Closes Route 35
First responders were called to a report of a serious crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. The rollover crash was reported about 11 a.m. on Route 35 near Woodland Drive in Middletown, according to initial reports. State transportation were called to the scene since the crash resulted in traffic lights and telephone poles down, reports said. Part of Route 35 also was closed. 15 Arrested In Central Jersey On Child Sex Abuse Charges
Fourteen Monmouth County men and one juvenile have been arrested for possessing or trafficking child sexual abuse pornography, authorities said. Female Struck, Killed By Train In Monmouth County
A person was struck and killed by a train just before the Red Bank station Saturday morning, NJ Transit officials said. North Jersey Coastline Train 7216 struck the female pedestrian at 8:10 a.m. -- four minutes after leaving the Long Branch Station, NJT Spokesman Jim Smith said. Service was suspended between Little Silver and Middletown, with bus service offered as a substitution. None of the 37 customers or crew were injured, Smith said. The train was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 9:43 a.m. Local and NJ Transit police were on scene investigating.
