Pair Arrested In Shooting, Stabbing In Central Jersey: Police
Two men from Jamesburg were charged with attempted murder after one person was found stabbed and another shot, authorities said. Police responded to West Railroad Avenue for a critically injured person on Friday, March 8, according to Jamesburg Police Chief James J. Craparotta. While treating that victim, police heard gunshots on East Railroad Avenue and saw two men fleeing. Police found the gunshot victim who was brought to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threating wounds. He was later released. Police have identified the gunman accused of killing three people in a New Jersey home Monday, Nov. 27. Om Brahmbhatt, 23, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Dilipkumar Brahmbhatt, 72, Yashkumar Brahmbhatt, 38, and Bindu Brahmbhatt, 72, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Ciccone and South Plainfield Police Chief Peter Papa said only that the 23-year-old Brahmbhatt lived with and was related to the three people he killed at the Traditions condo complex on Coppola Drive. Lakewood police arrested a 67-year-old man in connection with a June bank robbery and attempted bank robbery, authorities said. Ivan Sevastianow, of Howell, was charged with robbing a TD Bank on June 30, Lakewood police said, and attempting to rob a local Wells Fargo bank. A Middlesex County man who drives bodies to the morgue stole credit cards that he found on them, authorities said. Kevin Thomas, Jr., 43, of Sayreville, who works as a driver at an unidentified company, used the stolen credit cards to buy plane tickets, groceries, movie tickets and other items from businesses throughout Middlesex County, the said.
