Stranded Jersey Shore Jet Skiers Rescued By Njsp Copter, US Coast Guard New Jersey State Police and staff members from University Hospital rescued three jet skiers who were stranded in a marshy area on the Jersey Shore. Troopers from the Marine Services Bureau were dispatched to a marsh near the Ocean City Airport around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, when the mother of one called in the situation to police, New Jersey State Police said. 1 Airlifted In Wildwood Boat Fire One person was airlifted in serious condition in a Wildwood boat fire Saturday. Arriving firefighters were flagged down to help a burn victim who was brought to a nearby business as flames ravaged the 40-foot pleasure vessel docked in the 400 block of Dock Street around 10:30 a.m., fire officials said. Wildwood Crest EMS and AtlantiCare Paramedics treated and transported the victim to the Cape May County Armory in Cape May Court House, where the patient was transferred to a Medevac helicopter and airlifted to Jefferson University Hospital Burn Center in Philadelphia. Boaters Urged To Avoid Portion Of NJ River Where Humpback Whale Spotted Swimming Boaters are urged to avoid a portion of the Shrewsbury River where a humpback whale was spotted Friday morning. New Jersey State Troopers from the Marine Services Bureau responded to the Route 36 bridge over the Shrewsbury River for the report of the whale around 9:25 a.m., police said. Additional NJSP officials arrived to assess the whale's condition. "Preliminarily, the whale appears to be healthy and feeding," state police said.
