24-Year-Old Dead In NJ Turnpike Crash: State Police
A 24-year-old Millville man was killed in a three-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County on Wednesday, Dec. 27, state police said. At 10:36 p.m., police responded to a car crash on the Turnpike in Mansfield Township. A Honda was traveling southbound in an outer lane when it lost directional control and collided with a Tesla traveling southbound in an inner lane, state police said. The Honda was then subsequently struck by an GMC SUV, police said. Lawrence Orlando, a passenger in the Honda, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The …

Beloved NJ Wrestling Coach Curt Pakutka Dies After Cancer Battle, 55
A beloved New Jersey high school teacher and coach died after a lengthy battle to esophageal cancer. Curt D. Pakutka, 55, of Mansfield Township, died on June 7, at Hackettstown Medical Center. He was a well-loved physical education and driver's education teacher, as well as occasionally teaching health, at Newton High School in Sussex County. His love for sports followed him when he became a wrestling coach for Jefferson Township in Morris County from 2004-2015 and the head coach for the Newton High School Girls softball team from 2008-2019, according to his obituary. A 45-year-old woman from South Jersey has been arrested for stealing more than $60,000 from a youth spots program and spending the money on family vacations and other personal expenses, authorities said. Authorities: Florida Woman Wanted For NJ, NY Walmart Shoplifting Incidents ID'd Via Rental Car
A Florida woman who returned nearly $1,800 worth of stolen Walmart merchandise at stores in New Jersey and New York was caught by Mansfield Township Police through surveillance footage of her rental car from Philadelphia, authorities said. Dominique K. Butler, 22, of Tampa and a friend stole $1,789.24 worth of Walmart merchandise and returned items for cash at stores throughout New Jersey and New York on July 23, 2019, Mansfield Township Police said in a release.
