JCP&L To Spend $12.5M On Underwater Power Line Upgrade For NJ Barrier Islands
Jersey Central Power & Light will replace a high-voltage underwater power line in Barnegat Bay to improve reliability for more than 13,000 customers on New Jersey’s barrier islands, officials said. JCP&L will invest $12.5 million to replace an aging underwater power line beneath Barnegat Bay, FirstEnergy Corporation said in a news release on Friday, Nov. 22. Power was knocked out for some residents in a Marlboro Township neighborhood after a rollover crash during the morning commute, officials said. An elderly Toms River man was hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole in Ocean County, authorities said. The 84-year-old man was driving at the intersection of Route 70 and Center Street at around 12:16 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, the Lakehurst Police Department said in a news release.
