2 Injured, 1 Critically, In Somerset County Fire: Prosecutor
Authorities are investigating the cause of a Somerset County fire that hurt two residents, one critically.
The blaze broke out at a home on Mountain Avenue in North Plainfield around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, June 4, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said alongside local Police Chief William Parenti.
Two men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where one of them remained in critical condition, McDonald said.
The cause of the fire was being investigated but did not seem suspicious, the prosecutor added.

Authorities ID Woman, 93, Killed In House Fire On Jersey Shore
Authorities have identified the woman killed in a house fire in Belmar on Wednesday, March 15, authorities said.
Frances Colie, 93, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. on the 1700 block of Surf Avenue.
There has been no indication of any foul play being involved, the prosecutor's office said.

The parents of a missing 21-year-old Somerset County man tracked his cellphone to the Palisades overlooking the Hudson River, where they found his backpack -- and responders eventually recovered his body, authorities said.
The concerned Franklin Township parents called Palisades Interstate Parkway police on Saturday, Feb. 4, and told them their son had been missing for two days, Lt. Raymond E. Walter said.

An evicted tenant was arrested and charged with disturbing human remains several weeks after a landlord found a decomposed body in a trash bag at the Trenton home, authorities announced.
David Gibson, 44, was charged with disturbing or desecrating human remains, tampering with evidence, and hindering, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Gibson was evicted in November from the apartment on the 600 block of Beatty Street in Trenton, where the remains were found in a trash bag by the landlord on Friday, Dec. 23, Onofri said.
