Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 9 In Central Jersey
Route 9 in Middlesex County was close for several hours late Tuesday after a fatal pedestrian crash, authorities said. At about 10:40 p.m., Old Bridge police officers responded to reports of an injured person in the 1100 block of Route 9. Emergency responders found an unconscious and unresponsive person suffering severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle, according to initial reports. Car Slams Into Tree Off I-195 On Jersey Shore
State police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to a serious crash on Thursday afternoon, authorities said. The crash occurred at 1:21 p.m. on Interstate-195 eastbound at mile-marker 22.2 in Jackson Township, according to a state trooper.. Authorities late Thursday turned to the public for help finding a hit-and-run minivan driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian five days earlier in Paterson. The 39-year-old victim was struck by a light-colored Dodge Caravan as he crossed Totowa Avenue near Marion Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. last Saturday, they said. Woman Seriously Injured By Deer Who Ran Into Crowd Of South Brunswick Marchers
A deer that ran into a crowd during a Black Lives Matter protest injured three people including one seriously, authorities said. The deer apparently ran from the South Brunswick High School into the crowd marching on Route 522 at the 5 p.m. march on Friday. A 69-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with a serious head injury, while two others were treated at the scene, police said.

A 72-year-old Tenafly woman and her 51-year-old son from Dumont were hospitalized after they were struck Friday in Englewood by a vehicle involved in a nearby crash, authorities said. Person Injures Head In Fall In Lacey Township
Emergency crews were called to Lacey Township on a report of a fall. A call came into police about 4:30 p.m. Police were told someone had severely injured their head in a fall. Additional details were not immediately available. EMS requested a medevac unit to fly to the scene and transport the patient. Construction Worker Falls From Fair Lawn Roof
A 49-year-old construction worker was injured when he fell 15 feet off the roof of a Fair Lawn home. The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the worker to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson after the Hopper Avenue mishap at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The victim, who lives in Newark, injured his back, neck and wrist, Metzler said.

Family Dog Severs Ear Lobe Of Old Tappan Girl, 2
A 2-year-old Old Tappan girl had her left ear lobe bitten off by the family dog in an unfortunate accident on Sunday, authorities said. The toddler inadvertently jumped on the border collie, who was sleeping, and was bitten around 1:30 p.m., Police Chief Thomas Shine said. She also sustained a puncture wound on her right arm, the chief said. She was in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center and may require surgery, he said. Detective Robert Wacht was investigating.
