Popular Central Jersey Pizza Shop Shuttered By Fire
A popular pizza shop in Middlesex County was heavily damaged by fire, authorities said. Jerusalem Pizza at 230 Raritan Ave. in Highland Park has been closed down due to the blaze. At approximately 11:14 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 6, the Highland Park Police Department received a 911 call about a fire. Officers arrived at the scene and found heavy smoke and a working structure fire. Officers were able to successfully evacuate all residents from the location, although one was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, police said. Pair Killed In Central Jersey Crash, Driver Charged: Prosecutor
An elderly pair from Maryland was killed in a crash Tuesday evening, June 13 in Highland Park, authorities said. A Mercedes driven by Abeer Viriani, 34, of Iselin, struck a Subaru occupied by Peter Palmer, 75, of Easton, MD, and Carol Paul, 77, of Easton, MD, around 5:30 p.m. at Route 27 and North 10 Street, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. A 26-year-old Middlesex County man has been charged in connection with an October 2022 shooting, authorities said. Gary Manley of Edison was charged while incarcerated with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons offenses, they said. Police are on the hunt for a man wanted on aggravated assault charges for physically attacking a woman walking in Middlesex County on Sunday, June 5, authorities said. Police seek the public's help locating a fugitive in a shooting in Middlesex County. The suspect fled police during an arrest early Wednesday, Feb. 23 near Magnolia Street and South 2nd Avenue, Highland Park police said. Wanted is Jakil Bryant of Highland Park. Body Of 37-Year-Old Man Found Floating In Raritan River
The body of a 37-year-old man was found floating in the Raritan River Sunday. Crews responded to the Donaldson Park boat ramp around 4:15 p.m., and found the body of Highland Park's Michael Davis, Jr., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Highland Park Police Chief Richard Abrams said. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death remains undetermined pending the completion of an autopsy by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. A 63-year-old man from Highland Park was arrested after attempting to lure two pre-teen girls and asking them to have sex, authorities said. Genaro Gutierrez was charged on Thursday with two counts -- one for each juvenile -- of promoting prostitution, luring and endangering the welfare of a child, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C.
