Driver Flees From Crash That Killed Passenger On Route 9: Prosecutor A 47-year-old North Plainfield man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Woodbridge on Saturday, Oct. 25 in which the driver had fled from, authorities said. Mario Ortiz Bonilla was found dead in the front passenger's seat of the 2017 Kia Sportage on Route 9 and Green Street in Woodbridge just after 9:05 a.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge PD Director Robert Hubner said. 7,000-Gallon Tanker Truck Strikes Railroad Bridge In Central Jersey (Developing) A 7,000-gallon tanker truck struck a railroad bridge in Woodbridge on Wednesday afternoon, July 10, authorities said. Woodbridge police could not immediately confirm the tanker's contents but said there were no major leaks and no injuries. The crash occurred at about 2 p.m. at Green Street and Rahway Avenue. An unconfirmed report said the tanker was carrying jet fuel. Hazmat crews and NJ Transit were at the scene of the crash, police said. No train service was interrupted due to the crash, according to a NJ Transit spokesman. Check back for updates.

2 Central Jersey Modell's Stores Closing National retail chain Modell’s Sporting Goods is closing two stores in Central Jersey, company officials said. CEO Mitchell Modell announced last week 24 locations would close nationwide in an attempt to preserve the whole company and save the jobs of 4,300 families. The Central Jersey stores closing are located on Route 9 in Englishtown and Green Street in Woodbridge.  A third store in Camden County will also be closing, officials said.
