Kayak Fisherman Found Dead In Jersey Shore River: State Police A man fishing in a kayak was found dead in a Jersey Shore river, authorities said. Diego Ferreira, 37, of Long Branch, was found dead in the Navesink River in Middletown, a state police spokesperson said. Investigators said Ferreira was fishing in the river at night on Monday, Mar. 25. Ferreira was reported missing to state police at around 5:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 26.
