Cranford police officers who fatally shot a Perth Amboy man on the Garden State Parkway in December 2023 will not face charges, the state attorney general's office announced Friday, Oct. 25. A car thief was killed by a police officer in a pursuit on the Garden State Parkway Thursday, Dec. 28, state officials confirmed. The stolen vehicle was being pursued by officers from the Cranford police department when it crashed on the southbound side of the highway in Woodbridge on Dec. 28, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said in a news release. Two men have been arrested and two more are wanted in connection with a break-in at a Central Jersey pharmacy, authorities said. Nearly $28,500 in proceeds were stolen from the Boro Hill Pharmacy in Middlesex during the Feb. 28 burglary, police said. A fentanyl trafficking network was dismantled by authorities who seized nearly a quarter-pound of the highly-lethal drug, two handguns and several thousand dollars in suspected drug money, the Union County Prosecutor's Office announced.
