NHL Star, Brother Killed By Drunk Driver In South Jersey Before Sister's Wedding, Troopers Say An NHL star and his brother from Salem County were killed by a suspected drunk driver one day before their sister's wedding, authorities said. Johnny Gaudreau of Carneys Point and Matthew Gaudreau of Pedricktown died on Thursday, Aug. 29, a state police spokesperson confirmed to Daily Voice. Troopers responded to the crash near milepost 11.1 on County Route 551 in Oldmans Township at around 8:19 p.m. Sean Higgins of Woodstown was accused of driving drunk during the crash. The accident happened just before 1:40 a.m. on the northbound side of the Turnpike in Carneys Point, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. NY Man Dead In Fiery Turnpike Crash A New York man died in a fiery crash that closed the New Jersey Turnpike Saturday morning, July 22, police said. Henry Subin, 77, of Katonah, NY, was heading north in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he struck the concrete barrier of the toll plaza, overturned, and became fully engulfed in flames around 9:45 a.m. in Carneys Point.  The crash, near milepost 2.4 on the northbound side, closed toll lanes 1 to 4 for four hours.  Subin was killed as a result. The crash remains under investigation.
