Teen Girl Dismembered In Boating Accident Off NJ Coast, Report Says A boating accident was under investigation at a New Jersey beach, police said Sunday, Aug. 25. Harvey Cedars police did not detail that accident and said only that it was "tragic" and under investigation with New Jersey State Police. According to NBC Philadelphia citing a source, a teen girl was dismembered after being run over by the boat, operated by her father.  "As the investigation is in its preliminary stages, we ask that you keep the family and community in your thoughts and prayers," Harvey Cedars police said.  Click here for more from NBC Philadelphia.

Man Fell Off Pontoon In Cape May County, Gashed By Boat's Propeller: State Police A man was hospitalized after he was hit by a pontoon boat's propeller in Cape May County, authorities said. A state police spokesperson said the 51-year-old man fell off the front of the pontoon when it hit a large wake in Lower Township at around 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. The propeller gashed open the man's stomach and one of his arms. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. The man was expected to survive his injuries, police said.

Firefighters Rescue 3 Jersey Shore Boaters From Rough Waters Three boaters were rescued by firefighters from rough currents after jumping off their sinking vessel, authorities said. The incident occurred on Sunday morning about a half-mile off Corson’s Inlet State Park as they were exiting the inlet in Ocean City, New Jersey State Police said. "The vessel began to submerge, and the occupants jumped into the water," State Police SFC Lawrence Peele said. "Prior to arrival by troopers, members of the Strathmere Fire Department located the occupants and transported them to land," Peele said. No one was hurt.

South Jersey Woman, 56, Killed When Boat Sinks A 56-year-old woman from Cumberland County was killed when a boat she was on sank near Atlantic City, authorities said. The 20-foot Bayliner boat capsized at 8:02 a.m. on Monday, May 30, in Absecon Bay, according to New Jersey State Police. The woman who died was identified as Lisa Maxey of Bridgeton, a state police spokeswoman said.  There were four others on the boat when it overturned, she said.  Maxey's niece wrote on Facebook, "You meant so much to everyone. . .You were an amazing individual and a wonderful aunt." The incident remains under investigation.

Police ID Missing Delaware River Boaters New Jersey State Police have identified the two boaters who they said went missing on the Delaware River over the weekend. A search and rescue mission was launched Saturday for Joseph P. McLaughlin, 24, and Brian S. Palangi, 26, both of Deptford, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Adam Dewechter said. Sussex County Fisherman, 57, Goes Overboard, Dies On Jersey Shore A 57-year-old Sussex County man died when he fell off his boat on the Jersey Shore Saturday, New Jersey State Police said. The Scott Sabisch, of Glenwood, fell from the 37-foot vessel in Sandy Hook Bay at 2:53 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. Sabisch was unresponsive and later pronounced dead, Curry said. The incident remains under investigation.
