Hudson Corrections Officer Accused Of Shooting Lover, Her Friend Dead In Newark
A Hudson County corrections officer is accused of shooting his lover and another woman dead Tuesday night in Newark, authorities said.
Police found Anna Shpilberg, 40, of Randolph suffering a gunshot wound at Edison Place and Bruen Street around 9 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
Luiza Shinkarevskaya, 40, of Riverdale, was found suffering the same on the 100 block of Haynes Avenue moments later, they said.

A pair of Newark men were charged with running an illegal bar -- days after two women were arrested for the same, authorities said Monday night.
Detectives from the Newark Police Division’s Vice Crimes Task Force investigating a large party in the basement of a residence at 33 Taylor St., around 12:20 a.m., Monday, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
The detectives heard loud music coming from inside the home and, once inside, found several people drinking at tables -- Argeni Castro-Taveras, 36, and Jesus Vilanueva, 28, behind the bar, Ambrose said.

Authorities: Newark Men Who Robbed Internet Dirt Bike Sellers At Gunpoint Busted With Heroin
Three Newark men and a teen who robbed sellers they met online at gunpoint were busted with heroin by police arresting them, authorities said Friday.
Najee Carney, 19, Christian Carnegie, 19, Al-Tamir Mayweathers, 18, and a 15-year old boy agreed to purchase merchandise from someone they met online last month, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
Carney, Carnegie, Mayweathers and the teen robbed the victims at gunpoint, once on Sept. 10 and again on Sept. 29, Ambrose said. In at least one of the incidents, the men robbed the victims of dirt bikes, Ambrose said.

Cold Case Cracked: Newark Man Charged With Murder In Toms River Man's Killing
A Newark man has been charged in the shooting death of a Toms River man, authorities said Friday.
William Manley, 48, shot Terrell Malone, 28, near 56 Parkhurst St., around 11:45 Aug. 16, in 2018, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
Malone was pronounced dead at University Hospital.
Manley has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful possession of weapons and possession for weapons for an unlawful purpose.
“We are pleased we were able to make an arrest in this cold case," Stephens said. …
