Van Strikes Two Pedestrians, Killing Woman In Jersey Shore Crash: Prosecutors
A woman was killed and a man was injured when they were hit by a van on a busy Neptune Township road, authorities said. The two were struck on Route 66, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Neptune Township police responded to the collision at around 7:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Investigators said a man was driving west in a 2021 Ford Transit when the van hit the pedestrians. The motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday on Route 206 has been identified as a New Jersey State Police sergeant and member of the US National Guard. Juan Fajardo, 41, of Columbus, was on his Ducati when he collided with a Ford Transit van around 4:15 p.m. near the Mansfield Square shopping center, Mansfield police said.
