A skunk in Mercer County has tested positive for rabies, authorities said. The skunk was found near Van Dyke Road in Hopewell Township on Saturday, Nov. 23, the township's health department said in a news release on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The animal was submitted for testing at the state Public Health and Environmental Laboratories in Trenton. It was confirmed to be positive for rabies on Monday, Nov. 25. Pedestrian, 67, Killed While Crossing Central Jersey Road: Police
A Mercer County man was killed when he was struck while crossing a road, authorities said. Namtho Trinh of Hamilton Township died in the crash on Thursday, Nov. 7, the Hamilton Police Division said in a news release. Officers responded to the intersection of South Olden and Riley avenues at around 4:01 p.m. Police said a 2011 Ford Escape was driving west on South Olden Avenue. Lucas Schwartz, 12, was identified as the victim of the Eldridge Avenue incident in Lawrence Township on a GoFundMe page.
