Big Lots To Shut These New Jersey Stores: Closing Sales Under Way
Big Lots! has announced the closures of even more locations since filing for bankruptcy in September. The company announced on Monday, Sept. 9 that it will sell its assets to an affiliate of private equity firm Nexus Capital Management. Additional closures were approved this month in bankruptcy court. New Jersey has 27 stores, and 13 of them are set to close with closing sales underway. Historic Freehold Raceway To Permanently Close At End Of 2024
Freehold Raceway, the oldest racetrack in the U.S., will close after two centuries of competitions and Monmouth County history, officials said. Freehold Raceway will hold its final live races and simulcast operations on Saturday, Dec. 28, the half-mile track said in a news release. A Mays Landing woman will spend more than half a decade in prison after admitting to killing her husband during an argument in their home on Christmas night, authorities said. Marylue Wigglesworth, 53, was sentenced on Tuesday, Aug. 20 to six years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release on Thursday, Aug. 22. A Mays Landing woman pleaded guilty to killing her husband during an argument in the couple's home on Christmas night, authorities said.
