19-Year-Old NJ Resident Dies Of Heart Attack, Loved Ones Say
A GoFundMe has been launched following the sudden death of Matthew Cadenas, a Sussex County teen who loved ones said died from a heart attack.
Cadenas, of Branchville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, according to information from Pinkel Funeral Home. He was born in Jersey City and grew up in Clifton before moving to Sussex County in 2022, his obituary reads.
Cadenas graduated from High Point Regional High School in 2024 and continued his education at Sussex County Community College, where he was currently enrolled as a student, his obituary continues.

Marijuana Use Linked To Heart Attacks, Strokes In New Study
A new study suggests that cannabis use may carry serious consequences for heart health, with some users facing significantly elevated risks of heart attacks, strokes, and even death.
The research, published Tuesday, June 17 in the journal Heart, analyzed pooled medical data involving more than 200 million people, mostly ages 19 to 59.
It found that individuals who use marijuana are 29 percent more likely to suffer a heart attack, 20 percent more likely to have a stroke, and more than twice as likely to die from heart disease compared to nonusers.

Heart Attack Victim Reunites With Officers Who Saved Life At Newark Airport
Herbert Villa, who had a heart attack at Newark Liberty International Airport, was reunited with some of the officers who saved his life on Friday, Feb. 28.
Six months ago, a United Airlines employee flagged down officers Bryan Cardona, Anas Swailmyeen, Finn Ebersbach after Villa, a Lambertville resident, was actively seizing at a TSA checkpoint in Terminal A.
The officers began administering CPR while Ebersbach arrived on scene with an AED and deployed it on Villa. He regained consciousness momentarily, but soon fainted again, prompting additional urgent action.
