A Mexican restaurant went up in flames on the early morning of Monday, Nov. 4 in Andover Township, authorities said. At 4 a.m., first responders in Andover Township received multiple calls reporting an active fire at Little Mexico Restaurant at 287 Newton-Sparta Road, Andover Township police said. Residents Evacuated In Two-Alarm Fire At Florist Shop On Route 46: Mine Hill FD
A fire at a florist shop necessitated a second alarm in Morris County on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 2, authorities said. Firefighters responded to a fire at a mixed use occupancy structure on 173 Route 46 and found a fire on the first floor at Party Flower Florist Shop and transmitted a second alarm, with additional units responding to extinguish the blaze, the Mine Hill Township Fire Department said. Multiple residents were reported to be trapped on the second and third floors and were quickly evacuated, firefighters said. There was no word of any injuries.

The bodies of two severely burned girls ages 6 and 8 were found at a Newark home following a fire over the weekend, officials said. Witnesses told detectives that there had been a birthday party for one of the girls on the second floor of the home and they'd been playing with fire near a couch in the hallway of the Eckert Street home on Saturday, Oct. 20, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Firefighters responding around 12:30 a.m. found the girls unresponsive and severely burned inside. They performed CPR, but the children were reported dead at the scene, authorities said. …

Lightning Strike Causes Fire At Turtle Back Zoo, Officials Say
A North Jersey zoo erupted in flames after being struck by lightning on Wednesday, Aug. 28, officials said. West Orange responders got a call from the Turtle Back Zoo saying its Sea Turtle Recovery Building had been struck by lightning around 9:45 p.m., a spokesperson for the town said. A popular Warren County sports bar was destroyed by a fire this weekend. Firefighters were called to Angry Dad Draught House on Route 31 in Washington around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. Photos of the scene show flames blowing through the roof. WFMZ says the roof of the restaurant collapsed and that no one was inside at the time of the blaze. The restaurant thanked first responders and those who have assisted, vowing to rebuild: "We will rebuild, we will be better, we may be down but we are not out."
