Remains Of Bergen County Soldier Killed In Vietnam Plane Crash Recovered
Albert Trudeau was a 22-year-old Bergen County resident when he was killed fighting the Vietnam War in 1971.
After 53 years, The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced on Wednesday, Dec. 4, they had finally found the Teaneck man's remains.
In October 1971, Trudeau, a U.S. Army Warrant Officer was, assigned to the 68th Aviation Company, 52nd Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, the DPAA said. On Oct. 26, Trudeau was serving as the pilot of a CH-47B “Chinook” helicopter when it went down over water in bad weather while flying in Vietnam, the DPAA said.

New York and Connecticut residents can breathe easier: Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has reversed its decision to impose time limits on anesthesia coverage during procedures, officials announced Thursday, Dec. 5.
The policy, initially set to take effect on Feb. 1, 2025, would have capped anesthesia coverage if a procedure exceeded an arbitrary time limit, regardless of medical necessity, according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists. The decision applied to residents in Connecticut, New York, and Missouri.

NJ Corrections Officer Ryan Stemple Dies Months After Cancer Diagnosis, 51
The New Jersey Department of Corrections is mourning the loss of Senior Correctional Police Officer Ryan Robert Stemple, who died on Monday, Dec. 2.
Ryan, 51, of Park Ridge (Bergen County), was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer that metastasized to a small area of his lung earlier this year, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched for his daughter.
"He was a very proud father, great son, brother, cousin and friend to many," writes Jen Van Cleef in an update on the campaign.
