A 38-year-old Warren County man was charged on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for defrauding a 91-year-old man who loaned him money, after having settled the case in court, Daily Voice has learned. In May 2021, a 91-year-old Clarksburg resident loaned Asbury resident Christopher Sterlacci $400,000, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson and Hunterdon County Chief of Detectives Timothy Drew said. Man, 57, Riding E-Bike Dies In Atlantic City Crash: Police
An Atlantic City man was killed when his electric bicycle and a vehicle crashed, authorities said. Officers responded to the crash on the 100 block of North Maryland Avenue at around 12:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Police found the 57-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. Firefighters and paramedics tried to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Man Killed While Walking Across Route 9 In Central Jersey, Prosecutors Say
A man was hit by a vehicle and killed while crossing a busy road in Freehold Township, authorities said. The crash happened at around 8:56 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. The wreck was at the intersection of Route 9 North and East Freehold Road. A 56-year-old man died in the crash. An Old Bridge man was accused of breaking into several businesses and vehicles in Aberdeen, authorities said. Johnathan Ruck II was charged with several burglary and theft offenses, the Aberdeen Township Police Department said in a news release on Monday, Aug. 12. Person Injured When Vehicle Crashes Into Utility Pole In South Jersey: Police
A person was injured when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and overturned in South Jersey, authorities said. The vehicle struck a utility pole in front of Bagel King on West County Line Road in Jackson Township on Tuesday, July 30, police Chief Matthew Kunz said. A Facebook user posted a picture of the damage from the crash at around 7:25 a.m. The picture showed a dark-colored vehicle on its side. The utility pole was damaged and wires were hanging low over the crash site. One person in the vehicle suffered minor injuries, Chief Kunz said.

A Seaside Park man was accused of leaving the scene of a crash that killed a Toms River man, authorities said. A Toms River man was accused of using bad checks to steal a vehicle from a Monmouth County dealership, authorities said. Robert Poelstra, 74, was facing two third-degree charges including theft by deception, the Hazlet Police Department said in a news release on Thursday, July 11. A 55-year-old Philadelphia resident was cited for careless driving after his vehicle overturned in Montgomery on Monday, June 24, authorities said. A Long Branch woman was accused of driving while intoxicated after an empty vehicle was struck by a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. North Jersey Coast Line train No. 4384 hit an unoccupied vehicle in Long Branch at around 8:59 p.m. on Monday, June 3, an NJ Transit spokesperson said.
