Nearly $6M In Federal Money Awarded To NJ Waterfront Development, Ferry Terminal
Nearly $6 million in federal infrastructure money will go toward the redevelopment of the waterfront including a new Ferry Terminal in Carteret, federal and local officials announced on Wednesday, June 26. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg unveiled $1.8 billion for 148 projects nationwide under the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program. Two people were flown to the hospital after being shot in Carteret Wednesday morning, June 12, officials said. The incident happened outside of a Roosevelt Avenue home around 9 a.m., Mayor Dan Reiman said. : 3-Year-Old Child Killed, Mother Seriously Injured In Carteret Dog Attack
UPDATE: A 3-year-old child was killed and his mother was seriously hurt when they were attacked by two pit bull dogs, authorities said. At 4:29 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities responded to Laurel Street on a report of a dog attack, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Dennis McFadden of the Carteret Police Department. Central Jersey Mayor Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Carteret Mayor Dan Reiman said Monday that he tested positive for the coronavirus and is recovering in self-quarantine at home. “I was tested last week and I received the results this morning, nearly seven days later, which is a long time to wait for results but it shows the importance of self-quarantining and following the advice of the CDC and Governor Murphy’s executive orders to help stop the spread of the virus,” Reiman said on Facebook.
