The NJDOT site says the crash happened in the northbound lanes, north of Exit 39 in Hanover.  As of 8:40 p.m., two right lanes were closed and emergency vehicles were at the scene.

Angely Betancourt has been charged with reckless death by auto and causing death while driving unlicensed in the July 4, 2022 crash that left one person dead on Route 287 southbound access ramp to Route 78 west in Bedminster, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash, which happened just before 12:25 p.m., was investigated by New Jersey State Police. The department did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for comment.

At 11:23 p.m., a truck was driving on Route 287 north in Boonton when it lost directional control, collided with a guardrail and overturned, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  No injuries were reported, Marchan said. Cement Truck Overturns On Route 287: Njsp A cement truck overturned following a crash on Route 287 in Morris County on the early morning of Wednesday, Aug. 14, authorities said. At 2:07 a.m., a cement truck collided with a passenger vehicle on Route 287 north in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Following the crash, the cement truck overturned, Lebron said. No injuries were reported and the crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Motorcyclist, 28, Killed In Route 287 Crash A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Whitehouse Station was killed in a crash on Route 287 in Bridgewater on Thursday, June 27, authorities said. At 7:36 p.m., a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Mazen Alnaser was traveling north on Route 287 when it exited the roadway to the left and struck a guardrail, ejecting him, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  Alnaser's motorcycle then continued north and struck the back of a Madza, Marchan said. Alnaser was pronounced dead at the scene, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.

Durmish Golesh was heading north on a Kawasaki when he rear-ended a Hyundai, overturned, and struck the back of an Infiniti around 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 in Far Hills, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Golesh was thrown from the bike and died, Lebron said. No other injuries were reported and the crash remains under investigation.
