Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In North Plainfield: Police
A woman was killed after she was struck by a vehicle in North Plainfield on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 4, authorities said.
At 9:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of a woman struck by a vehicle while crossing Norwood Avenue near Manning Avenue, North Plainfield police said. The driver of the vehicle, which was heading northbound on Norwood Avenue before striking the victim, remained at the scene, police said.
The victim, a North Plainfield resident, was transported to RWJ New Brunswick Hospital by first responders where she was pronounced dead on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Police were looking for three men who held a FedEx driver at gunpoint, tied him up, and stole items from his delivery truck in Edison, authorities said.
The driver, a 35-year-old Elizabeth man, was swapping trailers on Greek Lane when three men approached him at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, Edison police said. The suspects were wearing dark clothing and blue medical masks, and one man had a gun.

A Cinnaminson family was rallying for support after the death of a toddler who was an identical triplet, according to a fundraising campaign.
A GoFundMe page was set up in memory of Cole Scannell. The 15-month-old boy died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 28, according to an obituary from Givnish Funeral Homes.
The GoFundMe page had raised more than $82,000 from at least 989 donations as of Thursday, Sept. 5.
