A lottery ticket worth more than a quarter of a million dollars was sold at a Middlesex County gas station, officials said.
The Jersey Cash 5 ticket was purchased at the Exxon gas station on Route 35 and Route 9 North in South Amboy, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Friday, Oct. 11. The $284,169 winner was in the drawing on Thursday, Oct. 10.
The winning numbers were 3, 4, 5, 24, and 27. The XTRA number was 4 and the Bullseye number was 3.

A 45-year-old New Jersey man sent costumes and sex toys to a 16-year-old girl who lives out of state so she could make explicit videos and other images for him, federal authorities charged.
Jeremy Greenwald, 45, of South Amboy, paid the youngster to create and sent him the images of her engaging in sexually explicit conduct," U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
Greenwald "directed the victim to perform certain sexual activities, even using items Greenwald had purchased and sent the victim to use during the videos, including sex toys and costume," the U.S. attorney said.

A New Jersey service station manager admitted stealing $78,000 from more than 17 customers, including Amtrak, through bogus charges for gas, federal authorities said.

Man Steals Central Jersey Police Car, Crashes It Twice: Report
A Paterson man was arrested after stealing a South Amboy police car and getting into two different crashes, NJ Advance Media reported.
Woodbridge police responded to the stolen car at 1:05 p.m. on Monday, July 4.
After crashing the stolen car on Route 35, Jamil T. Robinson, 28, fled on foot and allegedly tried to carjack three other vehicles, the outlet said.
Robinson was charged with three counts of carjacking, as well as assault by auto, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, obstruction, and endangering an injured victim, according to the report.

Motorcyclist On Stolen Bike Killed In Central Jersey Crash: Police
A 33-year-old motorcyclist riding a stolen Harley-Davidson was killed in a crash, authorities said.
Kyle J. Kolbasowski of South Amboy was pinned under a car and pronounced dead at the scene, Old Bridge police said.
The crash occurred on Route 34 north near Annie Drive at 7:53 p.m. Sunday, June 5.

A winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket has been sold at a Middlesex County deli, state Lottery officials said.
The lucky ticket matched all five numbers drawn winning the $1,254,610 jackpot from Tuesday's drawing.
The winning numbers were: 02, 13, 22, 30, and 45 and the XTRA number was: 03.
The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The ticket was sold at Stevens Avenue Deli & Liquor, 250 N. Stevens Ave., South Amboy in Middlesex County.
Pair Charged With Supplying Drugs That Killed Jersey Shore Woman, Prosecutor Says
Two men from Monmouth County have been arrested for allegedly supplying a 35-year-old woman with a fatal dose of illegal drugs, authorities said.
Terrance R. Rose, 38, of Freehold Borough and Reginald A. Simeus, 42, of Howell both were charged with first-degree strict liability for a drug-induced death, Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said Thursday.
On Nov. 17, 2020, Howell Township police responded to a residence on a report of a possible drug overdose, Linskey said.
Police found Katherine Hughes, 35, of Howell who was pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor said.

A 44-year-old solar panel salesman from Burlington County has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $75,000 from his former employer in South Amboy, authorities said.
Brett Cooper, 44, of Moorestown, was charged with second-degree theft, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
An investigation found that Cooper collected payments from solar panel customers, which he allegedly withheld from his South Amboy-based employer, Solar Me USA, Ciccone said.
